10 Example Math Songs For Kindergarten
There are many options for math songs for kindergarten, but I wanted to gather song examples
I also explain how to add physical activity to the songs and what they help your child learn!
1. The Ants Go Marching
The ants go marching is a fun song to work on counting and simple math!
Adding movement is easy for this one as well
Since it is so silly, kids enjoy singing it!
This gives them practice counting to 10
If your child is more advanced, try to keep going!
Just don’t the “the end” for the number 10
And then find a rhyming word for eleven.
Just use google if you struggle with that!
2. Ten Green Bottles
This song also teaches counting and simple math
The difference is that this one is backward
So Instead of starting at 1 and ending at 10
Ten green bottles starts at 10 and ends on 0.
If you and your child singing without a video, you can do as many numbers as you want to.
Adding physical activity can be setting up 10 bottles and knocking them over as the song goes on.
This only adds to the fun and gives your child a visual!
3. One, Two, Buckle My Shoe
This fun song helps students with number recognition, counting, and even adds some language skills to the mix!
With the fun lyrics that can be changed, the repetition needed to learn numbers becomes fun.
I also LOVE to add as many learn opportunities as possible when planning activities.
So adding that language element makes me happy!
4. Ten Little Fishies
This is a relaxing song that is easy to add movements to.
Ten little fishies is great for teaching counting concepts, but also beginning to add addition to the math goals.
The addition in this song is very simple, but a great place to start.
Even better with visuals created by moving the body and hands!
5. Ten In The Bed
Opposite of 10 little fishies, ten in the bed works on counting and subtraction.
Once again, it is a simple form on subtraction
But a great place to start and get a visual understanding of subtracting!
6. Five Little Monkeys
To add repetition to learning basic subtraction, five little monkeys uses the same concepts as ten in the bed…
Expect using five instead of ten.
Great thing about this one is that it can easily be changed!
Talk about 10 monkeys in the bed and have more than one fall out.
Now you are working with harder subtraction!

7. Five Little Speckled Frogs
This one is just like five little monkeys
One of my favorite things about math songs for kindergarten is that there are many songs for the same concepts
So students get that repetition that they need without realizing it!
8. One, Two, Three, Four, Five Once I Caught a Fish Alive
Another great counting song and number recognition song!
This is a very simple song that is great for beginning concepts!
9. Superhero Sing Along to 100
One of the goals for kindergarten is to count to 100
Math songs for kindergarten can help!
Songs like this one uses passions to work on skills that can be seen as boring and long
And make them fun!
10. Count By Tens
Learning to count and have letter recognition is not just the traditional counting
Learning to count by ones, twos, fives, and tens is important too and often less practiced.
Add songs to daily life that helps your child learn those as well!
